Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
